Stolen iPad

Hi,

No doubt you've found this post because you've just purchased an iPad off of craigslist or eBay and thought, "I wonder if this was stolen?" Well, the answer is yes. Your new iPad was stolen from our home on 04/18/2011, our second wedding anniversary and the night of our second birthing class (which we missed waiting for the cops). The iPad was stolen along with about $5000 worth of goods.

No doubt, you'll attempt to comfort yourself with the knowledge that we filed an insurance claim and got a new iPad...maybe even a better iPad 2. Of course we did, but please also know that this theft did not get us free new stuff.

Firstly, we paid $1000 deductible. Then, our home owners insurance was increased nearly $500/year. We've been informed that this increase will go on for 3 years. So, the cost to my family will be $2500.

Oh, wait! See, now I have a wife that no longer feels safe in her home, so we had to buy new doors, deadbolts, etc. Thank you, we're now up to over $5000. Huh. Well, enjoy your new iPad 16GB 3G. Or, if you want to sooth your guilty conscience, you'll contact me and help me pass some valuable information on to the police.

Thanks.

Wishing is worthless...

I have few true passions in my life, but for, and thank God for Google, lusting after bikes. While my twin wheeled steed is punchy and quick it lacks some soul. It's all Machine...and every now and again you yearn for the Meat...the grit and grind of life clung to bone, a thing wrought from the hard Earth rather than spun from Petri dish goo...

Sure, there are humbler or more stylized bikes out there, however, the idea of high tech iron appeals to me; It is grounded in heavy metal, yet lets you build a ride that can rival the the weight of most plastic bikes.
